Gunnedah Pistol Club was established in 1965 and moved to the persent site at Borthistle Hill, Mullaley Road in 1971. Target pistol shooting is an Olympic event and is controlled by the international body "ISSF" and nationally by "Pistol Australia". In NSW the organising body is "NSW Amateur Pistol Association". Shooting and licencing is overseen by the NSW Police and Firearms Registry. Gunnedah Pistol Club has shooting matches every Sunday from 9am.
