Gunnedah Library has a large collection of materials for your reading and research needs. We have books for the Sci-Fi and Fantasy fan, for the romantic, and for those who love Thrillers, Mysteries, Horror, Contemporary and Historical novels, Westerns and more. You can even borrow music CDs, magazines, videos and talking books and look through Australian telephone directories and newspapers.

Every Wednesday at 11.00am we hold Storytime for preschool aged children and their families. In this there is book borrowing, storytelling and craft. During the July school holidays we run a Holiday Activity and over Christmas there is the Summer Readers Club, all for children in primary and early high school.

Large print and talking books are available at the library for those who find it hard to read. We even have a Housebound Service, for Gunnedah members who cannot leave their homes for medical reasons, where we bring the books to you.

The library has free internet access for members and for those just passing through. All you need to do is make a booking by ringing the above number, or drop in and try your luck. Word Processing, photocopying and Family History research materials are also available.

If you can't find what you're after, if it's not on our shelves just ask, it may be at another library in the region. Still can't find it? Then we can try to get it for you on Inter-library Loan (for a small fee).

Want to join the library? Just come in with some identification showing your current address and we'll join you up straight away. It's free so bring the whole family! Our friendly staff is looking forward to your visit.
