CURRENT EXHIBITIONS
COMPACT PRINTS
Proving good things do come in small packages, Compact Prints brings stunning examples of print making to Gunnedah's Creative Arts Gallery from 10 February, touring with Queensland Arts Council’s Ontour onexhibition program.
Compact Prints showcases North Queensland’s printmaking talent as well as work by national and international artists, and gives a sweeping glance at the many possibilities of printmaking, with maximum impact.
This annual exhibition, curated by Townsville’s Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts, will tour to regional communities in Queensland for the first time in 2010.
The 127 prints feature the works of North Queensland’s printmaking talent, alongside national and international artists, all in framed in CD jewel cases.
The works are etched, scratched, watermarked, stamped, rolled, blocked-in and engraved.
MY COUNTRY
32 water colour studies by acclaimed artist Jean Isherwood, based on Dorothea Mackellar's poem "My Country". This permanent collection is presented by the Dorothea Mackellar Memorial Society.
